Generation next Toyota Fortuner caught testing in Thailand
It is reported that spies have witnessed the generation next Toyota Fortuner going under test drives on Thailand roads. The next generation Fortuner is being developed on company’s new TNGA platform on which it is developing its one more MPV Innova and is expected to develop its forthcoming vehicles on the same platform. The news regarding witness of new Fortuner being tested on Thailand roads is encouraging news for Indian car market where the MPV is being brought through CKD routes.
Although the details about the new features offered in Fortuner 2016 are not yet disclosed but as reported earlier by company sources it’s all upcoming vehicles would be now based on its TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform and therefore the new Fortuner would not be an exception to it. Industry players believe that new Fortuner apart from being going through various cosmetic changes will also receive an upgraded powerful and high performing engine. It is believed that besides introducing new powerful engine in SUV it will continue the existing five speed manual and automatic gearbox and would be offered in both four wheel and two wheel drive options.
With its rough look and its decent price Fortuner has been the successful cars marking its strong presence both on road and its segment. The strong contenders of Fortuner in its segment are Ford Endeavour, Ssangyoung Rexton and Chevrolet Captiva.
