Facelift Toyota Fortuner Launched With Price Tag Of Rs. 29.98 Lakh
Toyota Kirloskar Motor the Indian alliance of Japanese carmaker Toyota Motors has launched the facelift version of Fortuner MPV in India with the starting price of Rs. 29.98 lakh for the base variant. The top-end variant (4WD) diesel automatic has been priced Rs. 37.43 lakh. Along with this, the carmaker has also introduced the sportier Legender variant priced Rs. 37.58 lakh. (All the prices are ex-showroom prices New Delhi). It is the mid-life facelift introduced in the Fortuner after the gap of almost four years.
Under the hood, it continues with the same BS-VI engine configurations offered in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant comes equipped with a 2.7-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine boosting the power of 164 bhp and the torque of 245Nm. The diesel engine is empowered with a 2.4-litre diesel engine which now churns the power of 201 bhp and the peak torque of 500 Nm. The transmission duties in both the variants are performed by a six-speed manual and a six-speed sequential automatic torque convertor unit. This the company has also introduced the four-wheel-drive option in the diesel variant. In India, the 2021 Toyota Fortuner will go against the likes of MG Gloster, Ford Endeavour, and the Mahindra Alturas G4.
Inside the cabin, it is similar to its existing version with updated features. The major updates introduced on the interior front are an eight-inch touchscreen system that supports connectivity with an Android Auto and an Apple CarPlay, multi-functional steering wheel, wireless phone charger, seven-airbags, JBL audio system with nine-speakers, refreshed instrument cluster, 360-degree camera view, and a few more.
The safety features include the Toyota’s safety sense, lane departure warning, cruise control system, collision prevention system followed by newly introduced car connected technical features like vehicle tracking, SOS alert system, geofencing, and a few more. Moving outside the car you will find the refreshed front fascia in the form of the enlarged front grille, LED projector headlamps, upgraded front bumper with large curtains, LED DRLs, silver skid plate, and small fog lamps. The side profile receives the set of new multi-spoke alloy wheels and new wing mirrors. The rear end is updated with the new LED taillights.
Speaking about the looks of Toyota Fortuner Legender, the front fascia looks more aggressive than compared to 2021 Fortuner. It receives sleek front grille and the large front bumper. The new quad-LED headlights and the set of a new alloy wheel.
