Tata Safari Merlin ready to launch

We have been hearing news of the new and updates version of Tata Safari, but not till now had we got an idea of how actually it would look. The new Tata Safari Merlin was spotted at the road just a few days ago. Tata is expected to chuck out the name Safari from it and keep it just Tata Merlin.

From the looks, Tata Merlin seems to have borrowed its design from Land Rover SUVs. Tata Motors' designers have made it look more of a Land Rover than a Tata product. However, Land Rover is also owned by Tata Motors now. So, there is no problem in borrowing designs from its subsidiary. The flared headlamps and housing projectors are clearly based on Land Rover's design.

Tata Merlin SUV will have the same engine as its predecessor. It will be powered by a 2.2L DICOR engine which generates 140bhp power and 320nm torque. But the ride quality and gearshift are expected to be better than before.

There are no confirmations if there are any changes made to the interiors of the car. Though, it would be really nice to see some better features and finish on the interiors. The new Tata Merlin is expected to be launched on 27th September. Though, the date is yet to be confirmed. There are speculations that Tata might launch it at the Indian Auto Expo next year. However, if Tata launches it within time, it can make some profits out of the forthcoming festive season.
