A perfect MPV for family, Nissan Evalia

Pros : Spacious, presence of diesel engine, well equipped with features, high fuel efficiency

Cons : Lack of rear power windows

I am Arjun from Mumbai and currently work at an IT company, I have been thinking to buy a new car for myself, a car that is spacious enough so that the entire family can travel together. Going for a petrol option at this time would not be a viable option and sedans are pricey enough, if I am getting a better option, in terms of space than why not go for a MPV or a SUV.

I was earlier waiting for Ford EcoSport, but then the launch of the compact SUV has been delayed in the Indian car market, therefore there is no point waiting for it that long. Nissan recently launched its new MPV, Nissan Evalia. I had heard about the MPV a lot when it was first unveiled foe the auto aficionados and Indian car lovers in the month of January in New Delhi at the 11th Auto Expo. I have also gone through the range of trims proffered to the customers, the MPV is launched only in diesel variant and comes with an affordable price tag. Nissan Evalia XL seems to be equipped with a number of good features and has a remunerative price tag too. Armed with a 1461 cc, 1.5 litre, K9K diesel engine with 86 PS at 3750 Rpm and 200 Nm at 2000 Rpm. The trim is available in manual transmission only, what I am really impressed with is the high fuel efficiency numbers that the MPV produces. As per the company words, the MPV returns a high fuel efficiency of 14 kmpl when driven in city conditions and 19.3 kmpl on highways.

Features like air conditioner, power steering are present, however power windows are given only in the front side and are absent in the rear side which is the only one thing I did not like. Cup holders are present at a reachable distance in the front and rear side of the MPV making it convenient for the passengers to keep bottles and glasses within a short distance. Alloy wheels are given that ups the luxury quotient of the MPV, CD which is a very basic comfort feature is present in the MPV as a standard feature, Safety features like airbag is equipped in the driver seat and front passenger seat. In Mumbai traffic it becomes very important to have a very important safety feature which is anti-lock brake system and thankfully it is present in this trim of Nissan Evalia. Central locking is also given which is again a very essential safety feature. Overall if you see the MPV is well equipped with features and there is ample space for the passengers, therefore it is a good MPV and the price is also affordable. I think it is time to go for the test drive.
