The promising French compact SUV, Renault Duster is now available for sales in India. The 5-seater compact SUV has been priced at Rs 7.19 lakh for the base petrol variant while the top end diesel model price reads Rs 10.99 lakh. The company has also offered an optional pack with the top end model that comes at Rs 11.29 lakh. The much-hyped power packed SUV will not only bang the volumes of Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari SUVs in the country, but also a greater jolt is expected to the premium sedans under Rs 10 Lakh.  The self-possessed yet imposing SUV is available with conventional fuel options of petrol and diesel.

Forget about the 1000 bookings of Renault Duster that made news prior to its launch. The latest report is a real stunner, that Renault Duster has grabbed more than 15,000 bookings since its launch on 4th July. The notable part here that it was launched only in the major cities of India; hence the figures could have been greater if it would have launched in the Tier II cities as well. The rush at the Renault showrooms speaks volumes about the aptly priced mass segment product, be it looks or the features. The starting price of Rs 7.19 has not only gathered SUV lovers those desired Tata Safari and Mahindra Scorpio, but also the prospect entry-level sedan customers too that planned for Honda City or Hyundai Verna. Now it's official that Renault India has got its first smash-hit in the form of Renault Duster.
