Maruti Swift carries along the peace of mind
Pros : high mileage, high resale value, superb performance, low cost
Cons : moderate looks, low quality interior material
Being a Maruti brand follower since my college time, I have already spent a considerable time driving my Maruti Alto and Maruti Wagon R. The only car I wanted to buy next was Maruti Swift since its launch in the Indian market in year 2006. But my budget and minimal savings never allowed me to be a proud owner of this fascinating hatchback until last year. But when I decided to upgrade to next segment car last year, the only option kept in consideration was Maruti Swift. Though a number of my friends and relatives have purchased new entrants like Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo, etc, but I believe if you buy Maruti car, u buy peace of mind along with it, be it maintenance cost or be it resale value.
So in August last year, when the company launched all new 2011 Maruti Swift, I whole heartedly booked the Maruti Swift Lxi, which now perfectly suits my budget. Fortunately, in the month of January 2012, I got the delivery of my much awaited car from the company.
Now coming to the performance of the car, I can say with my experience of three months full of pleasurable drive that Maruti Swift is one of the best performing cars in car in its segment. The highly fuel efficient 1.2L k series engine of Suzuki delivers a peak power of 87 PS along with superb responding torque of 114 Nm. Fuel economy has never been a problem with Maruti cars and same is the case with the Maruti Swift Lxi which delivers a mileage in the range of 15 to 18 km per liter.
Though the Lxi is a base variant of this car, still I have got all the features essential to me including AC, power steering, etc. However, the features which are mission in my base variant are fog lamps, adjustable outside mirrors with indicators and body colored door handles.
