New Hyundai iGen i20 – a fantasy unveiled

I have always been a Hyundai cars fan in my life be it the Santro small car of the recently launch Hyundai Verna Fluidic. But juxtaposed, my father and big brother has always been a big supporter of moderately designed Maruti cars. And you know how difficult it to change the mind-set of a Maruti supporter. But this time, I have somehow managed to convince them that new Hyundai i20 will be my next car after driving the boxy Wagon R for more than 2 years.

The 1.2L petrol version which I am looking forward to buy will be delivering a higher power output of 84 PS along with a fuel economy of over 19 km per liter (ARAI certified). So finally, the new generation version of my favorite premium hatchback – the Hyundai iGen i20 – has been launched in India with an improved engine and higher fuel economy. When I took the feature list at a glance, it felt like I am going through the feature list of a high end sedan. Be it styling, comfort & convenience, safety or entertainment, the company has equipped the car with a range of new premium features to keep the uniqueness of the car in the Indian market alive.

The styling quotient has been enhanced with segment exclusive features like High Gloss Front Grille, Rear Spoiler with integrated Stop Lamp, 8-Spoke sporty alloy wheels, and many more. Safety has been rest assured by the features like 6 airbags, antilock braking system, clutch lock system, smart pedal system, auto door locking with speed sensor, impact sensing auto door unlocking, etc.

Now coming to my favorite, the entertainment system of the car is blessed with a 2-DIN CD/MP3 Audio System with USB / aux-in / Bluetooth connectivity, and 4 speakers and 2 tweeters. The controls for both Audio and Bluetooth are mounted on steering.
