An advanced Alto at a much better price
Pros : Amazing exteriors, good price, nice fuel economy, low turning radius and a best vehicle for city driving
Cons : Cramped interiors and inferior upholstery gives a disappointing feel
I took test drive of Hyundai’s Eon recently and am very surprised to see an adoring car with good specifications and that too at an amazing price. Eon can rightly be said as a true portrait of middle class family desires and is an action packed package all set to excite you. Car comes with 814 cc 3 cylinder engine capable to generate 56 PS of power at torque of 5500 rpm much better than Maruti Alto.
Exteriors are stunning and remind me of the much famous i-10, front looks exactly the same but rear looks all different and gives a feel like Hyundai engineers were in a hurry while designing it. Eon comes with broad tyres (12 inches) fully capable to provide good grip over the road and it turns like water. Suspension is good and keeps the interiors fluffy.
Engine is powerful and a slight acceleration puts the agile beauty in motion. Gear shift is smooth and front disc brakes provide good breaking even on high speeds. Car is made keeping in mind the comfort of 4 people. Interiors are spacious than Alto especially the rear side but the front is cramped and is not fit for tall people. Boot space is decent. A/C is phenomenal and car provides a good combination of power and comfort. Eon is a very easy to drive car and even at high speeds its handling is superb. It’s a perfect city cruise and provides great ease at parking.
Overall Hyundai Eon can rightly be said as a perfect vehicle for middle class families who drive mainly in city traffic conditions and want a beauty at a much reasonable price.
