Go and rise with Figo!

Pros : Good mileage, spacious inside, wheel arches are wonderful

Cons : Interiors are too dark, 2nd gear issue

My name is Allen Mathew am from Vishakhapatnam. Around six months back or more, I bought my awaited hatchback home. The discussion among my friends went on for at least a month, before we finally drove it home. There was Maruti Ritz in competition with Ford Figo, but 90% of my friends suggested me to try something different, but safe, apart from Maruti vehicle. Prior to Figo, I took a test drive of Ritz car, which was like just another ‘proper’ Maruti vehicle. I earlier had Maruti Alto for 6 years. Moreover, I found Figo Diesel LXI more practical and a sort of freshness was coming out of its every feature. The car has got a reasonable price considering the fact that it’s a trusted and most successful product of American car constructer in India.

The overall exterior design I found impressive, especially the stylish curvy headlamps and the bulging out wheel arches that are rare exception in this segment car. It would have been great if Ford had fitted alloy wheels to make it look more stylish. The space is the key in the interiors, from outside one cannot imagine the room that it carries with it along with appropriate boot too, for loads of luggage. The features at the central console are engaging with good quality music system, would rather say best compared to Maruti, along with many convenient holders and pockets.

A small issue is with its low ground clearance, which is felt when the car is packed with 5 adults and small speed breaker is enough to make a bruise to the bumper. The mileage is just fantastic, near about Maruti vehicle. Furthermore, with the same number of passengers the second gear doesn’t work (pulls) as required hence I have to depend upon first gear more. This second gear issue is now sorted out with one of my known at Ford Service center free of cost.

On the whole, a great value for money in spite being a foreign company product. Until now I use to believe that only Indian car makers can provide with worthy vehicles, with this I have changed my perception.
