Anxiously waiting for launch of Renault Duster

I am a businessman hailing from Vadodra (Gujarat). I am almost fanatic about new cars and love to explore the latest and the best in the auto segment. My curiosity about cars (especially the new ones) is real and visiting Auto Expo (held in Delhi, back in February) was such a thrilling experience for me. One SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) that drew my attention at first sight was the Renault Duster. I had not heard about the car earlier but when I saw it for the first time, was hugely impressed.

It is a 5-seater SUV and as per the available information, is not particularly meant for a rough/long drive. I think, it is a good choice for people like me, who only occasionally want to take their car on highway. Its size is optimum. It isn’t very big and a lot different from the bigger MPV’s available in India.

It is, in fact, a niche product. It has a charm of its own. The price factor does not either bother, in case of Renault Duster. The top most variant will cost just about 9 lakhs and its low end variant cost nearly 6.5 lakhs.

The petrol variant of Renault Duster has a 1598cc engine with five speed manual transmission. It churns out 105bhp power and 148 Nm torque. The figures are quite impressive. The build quality of this SUV and its looks are also exceptional.

I feel like going for its 4X4 wheel drive variant. There are a lot of choices for the driver in this variant. One can choose to drive in Auto, Lock or 4x2 modes, as per wish and to gain maximum fuel efficiency. This kind of a choice is unheard in other SUV’s and I really love this fact about Renault Duster.

On the whole, this one is not only a head-turner but also a performance-driven SUV. This is something, I haven’t witnessed in the Indian auto scene before. I think that once you see Renault Duster, you will second me. Renault Duster is going to be launched in India sometime soon and it is one SUV that I would love to bag.
