Lovely 800 brings back the old charm with new glamour
Pros : great design, fresh interior, mileage, efficient drive
Cons : less features, width and high price
Getting rid of my old ancient Maruti 800, I bought the fresh Maruti Alto 800 CNG LX on this Dhanteras that seems to be good in many aspects than the old one. Starting with the design, I think that the company has given an entirely fresh design to Alto 800 that looks alike a sports car. The whole curvy body with fine red color makes my car look adorable. However, I have a complaint from the interiors of this car. No doubt the interiors are of good quality like the present modern cars, but the interior cabin width is same like the old Maruti 800. Or you can say that the old Alto has more width that Alto 800.
However, you would not be disappointed with the fuel efficiency of this car. To reduce the travelling cost, I bought the CNG variant and I am happy to have it. Furthermore, the drive of this hatchback is also appreciable. Everything like acceleration, power, pick up and handling are good and the frugal 0.8 litre engine is very responsive.
I am not in the favour of price at which the company has introduced this car. I thought that I would be getting it at something around 2-2.5 lakhs, but on road it is much more costly than my expectations. In addition, the shoulder width of the car is also not much sufficient for three people. Despite the price has been tagged high, the company has compromised to add some new fresh features to the CNG LX variant. My Alto 800 CNG LX variant has got just Air-conditioner. All the other major features are given in the CNG LXI variant which just 20 K more than the current variant I own.
