Style Does Matter!!
Pros : futuristic exterior, highly fuel efficient
Cons : Launch is awaited
I recently got to know that General Motors India is all set to launch its popular Sail model in the Indian auto market in both hatchback and sedan versions. Chevrolet Sail is a beautiful looking car, which I had seen in a video of Chevy pavilion at Beijing Motor Show 2010. And since then I have been waiting for this car to be launched in the country, but unfortunately the company has rescheduled its launch for a number of time.
As my budget allows me to buy a car in the range of Rs 5 to 6 lakh, and as my basic needs from a car matches from a hatchback version, I would be buying the Sail hatchback as soon as company decides to open the booking windows for this model. As the recent auto blogs in India claim, the new Chevrolet Sail hatchback would be replacing the existing Chevrolet Aveo hatchback and will come powered by a 1.2L petrol engine, likely to be the same smartech engine as available in the Chevrolet Beat petrol.
The unique things that separate the fascinating Sail hatchback from the crowd of other hatchbacks available in the Indian market, is its futuristic exterior designing and styling. What I liked the most about its styling is the amazing three muscular side lines that give it a three dimensional look. At the same time, the streamlined shape of the Chevrolet Sail reduces the drag of the car, making it highly fuel efficient and perfect fit for my pocket.
From the pictures of the Chevrolet Sail hatchback I saw at the Chinese website of the company, I guarantee that it will give a tough fight to its contemporaries like Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo, Nissan Micra, Toyota Etios and Honda Brio.
