Chevrolet Sail – nice package but costly!
Pros : Smartech 1.4L petrol engine, good mileage, spacious interiors
Cons : High running cost, unoriginal exterior design
Chevrolet Sail tops my list of choices as I am planning to fetch a whole new hatchback. After a long wait, I have come across some genuinely nice options. General Motors have designed Sail hatchback high end petrol variant, powered by 1.4L engine almost perfectly. The power output of the engine is 94PS and it can give a mileage of 14 kmpl in the city.
Firstly, it is a very spacious car. I like the fact that Chevy has taken heed of this basic need of every Indian buyer very seriously 375 litres of space which can be further extended by folding the seats in 60:40 ratio is definitely a blessing. Being a top end model, there are no issues pertaining to safety and comfort as well. The car has a safety-cage steel body and is pre-armed with ABS with EBD along with pedestrian protection system. There is an excellent AC with vents that circulate air 360 degrees. All the audio controls are mounted on steering and the music system comes with USB and Bluetooth interface. I really love to move around with friends and family together. We are out on weekends and occasionally we also go to vacations together. Owing a Chevrolet Sail means convenience in all such endeavors.
Sail hatchback’s exterior looks are not original completely. Its masculine cut-lines and other styling cues are also present in other Chevy cars. It seems like its design is hugely inspired from the design of Cruze. It is sporty but its overall body has lower stance in front and higher in back. The price of Sail hatchback is expected in a range of 6.5 – 7.5 Lakh. These are mere assumptions as the exact price will be unwrapped only after it launches. The running cost of the car also needs to be checked before buying it. If all that falls within reasonable limits, Sail is one car that will be worth all the money invested.
