World’s most expensive car: Ferrari 250 SWB Berlinetta at 4 million Pounds
Ferrari has been the dream car of every child. The red color has no doubt mesmerized even those who pay less heed to cars. Though India has been offered with only four models viz. Ferrari 458 Italia, Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, Ferrari California and Ferrari FF. The model range varies from Rs 2 crore to Rs 3.5 crore. But the sensational Ferrai range does not stop here. Even a 1960 model Ferrai 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione could be auctioned for a four million Pounds. The auction will happen next month. It is believed that this will make this car one of the world’s most expensive cars.
The Ferrari car that is being auctioned has a lot of special about it. It is one of the 74 chosen few models which were specially built. Thus these are special edition cars and nowhere can a person find these cars. The car has the one of the best of that time engine – a twelve valve 3L engine that takes the Ferrari to a 100 kmph mark from stationary in under 6 seconds. This means it is a one of the cars that can beat some of the world’s fastest cars today. It was in 2011 that a Ferrari car was sold for over 3.1 million pounds and since then there has been a hunting for Ferrari cars. This car has been owned by four people in the last 52 years.
In its time, the 250 SWB Berlinetta was among the fastest cars and even today it can beat some of the fastest cars. Thus with 4 million pounds as auction rate, the 250 SWB Berlinetta will become one of the costliest cars but possessing it means something and that has no price. Though India still dreams of Ferrari and has only four cars presently, it is expected that the Italian car maker will be launching more cars in the coming years as the initial response in the last one year has been overwhelming.
