Wait for the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara to End Tomorrow

Finally, the wait for Maruti Suzuki’s much-awaited electric SUV, the e-Vitara, will come to an end tomorrow with its launch. This will also mark the entrance of the country’s leading carmaker in the electric segment. Interestingly, the model has already been in production for several months at the company’s Gujarat plant, and the Indo-Japanese carmaker has already shipped the spec units to multiple European and global markets from Pipavav Port.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara Side Profile

Even before its domestic launch, the EV has started its journey in the international market. Meanwhile, Maruti recently expanded its ICE SUV range by introducing the Victoris, positioned below the Grand Vitara. The e-Vitara, Maruti Suzuki’s first all-electric model for India, will be sold through the Nexa network. It is expected to be priced above Rs17 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it in the heart of India’s competitive EV segment. It will be empowered with two LFP battery options, including a 48.8 kWh pack and a larger 61.1 kWh unit with a claimed range of over 500 km on a single charge. Both batteries are outsourced from BYD and will support DC fast charging, enabling 0–80% charging in approximately 50 minutes.

The smaller battery variant will deliver 144 PS and 192.5 Nm, while the larger pack will be paired with a 174 PS motor with identical torque output. Built on the Heartect-e platform, the SUV will compete against the Tata Curvv EV, Harrier EV, Hyundai Creta EV, Mahindra XEV 9e, BE.6, MG ZS EV, and Windsor EV. On the design front, the e-Vitara adopts a cleaner and more futuristic styling approach, distinct from the brand’s ICE models. Key features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone connectivity, a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-way powered driver seat, seven airbags, Level 2 ADAS, automatic climate control, and a 360-degree camera.
