Volkswagen Launches Polo GTI, Priced Rs. 25.65 lakh
The combination of Polo and GTI tags have become synonym of the best performing and easily affordable hatchbacks across the world, which could make various sports cars running on road feel jealous of it. And now the duet has landed in India. It is reported the German luxurious car maker Volkswagen has launched the highly awaited two door hot hatchback Polo GTI in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 25.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Thane). According to reports boosting the power of 189 bhp the Polo GTI is one of the most economical and high performing cars available in today’s date in India.
The Indian version of Polo GTI is empowered with 1.8 litre TSI engine that is capable of generating power of 189 bhp and torque of 250Nm. The transmission duty will be looked by seven speed DSG system which is also offered in TSI trim of polo GT. In the beginning GTI will be offered with two door feature, but might be offered with feature of five door facility after assessing its demand. Along with two doors the new GTI also receives honeycomb GTI grille, newly developed bumpers, LED headlamps, dual exhaust pipes, 17 inch wheels and integrated spoiler. With all these new features integration of conventional red FRI accents and GTI badges have potential to grab attention of commuters with slightly changed headlights.
It is said that German car maker will sale Polo GTI only in limited numbers in Indian car market but will definitely help in strengthening company’s position as one of the best automakers of sports cars. It is speculated that following the same practice of introducing GTI in Polo hatchback company will also introduce the GTI version of Golf in coming years. It is believed that launch of Polo GTI will inspire leading car manufacturers like MSIL and HMIL to introduce upgraded version of their best performing hatchbacks.
