Vigyan Path Expressway To Bridge The Gap Between 5 Districts In UP
With an objective to boost infrastructure and connectivity within the state, the Uttar Pradesh government is going to develop the 250-kilometre Vigyan Path Expressway. The construction of this expressway will help reduce traffic and cut travel time for commuters. The upcoming six-lane expressway will link Lucknow to five major districts, including Hardoi, Sitapur, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, and Unnao. This project will be a part of the State Capital Region (SCR) plan initiated by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA).

According to reports, the groundwork for the ambitious project has already begun. It is believed that the completion of this project will strengthen the connectivity between Lucknow and its neighbouring districts. This will not only play a vital role in boosting regional growth but will also make travel more convenient for residents and visitors equally.
The project is expected to finish by 2027 and will be accomplished in multiple phases. The Lucknow–Barabanki and Lucknow–Rae Bareli districts are expected to be completed first. By diverting heavy vehicles and long-distance traffic, Vigyan Path will help in reducing traffic on city roads such as Ayodhya Road, Rae Bareli Road, and Hardoi Road. Moreover, the project is expected to reduce travel time between Lucknow and nearby districts to around one hour. Along with the construction of this highway, the Lucknow Development Authority plans to establish around 20 development nodes along the expressway. These will include industrial parks, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and commercial zones. This will help in increasing economic activities and improving the living standards of people across the region.
The construction of the Vigyan Path Expressway is regarded as a major step toward transforming Uttar Pradesh’s road network and strengthening Lucknow’s position as a regional development hub.
