Vayve Eva Makes its Groundbreaking Entrance In India
India-based carmaker Vayve Mobility has made a memorable entrance into the Indian car market by unveiling the first solar-powered electric car Eva during the ongoing Auto Expo 2025. The smallest solar-based electric car will be priced at Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom price) for the base variant and go high up to Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom price) for the top-end variant. It will be available with three battery options including 9 kWh, 12 kWh, and 18 kWh. These battery options are aimed at making the car available to the masses.

Pre-Bookings Begin at ₹5,000: After unveiling the car during the ongoing Auto Expo 2025 the company has started receiving its bookings at the down payment of Rs 5,000. Deliveries will begin in the latter half of 2026. The first few buyers will be offered additional benefits including an extended battery warranty and three years of free vehicle connectivity.
Designed for Urban Commuters: Speaking about the design, the two-seater car is designed to cater for the daily driving needs of buyers in urban areas. The solar car comes equipped with features like
• Liquid-cooled battery technology for improved efficiency and safety.
• Panoramic glass sunroof will offer the feeling of a premium cabin.
• Smart connectivity with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.
• Additional conveniences, such as a laptop charger.
As far as its maintenance is concerned, driving an Eva will cost just Rs 0.5 per kilometre – nearly one-tenth the cost of a petrol hatchback – and it offers unparalleled affordability.
In the words of Nilesh Bajaj, CEO of Vayve Mobility, "Eva is our response to the pressing challenges of climate change, energy dependence, and urban pollution. We aim to inspire a new wave of eco-conscious consumers."
Addressing the event, Saurabh Mehta, CTO of Vayve Mobility, said, "The synergy between solar panels and the electric motor reflects years of meticulous research. Eva offers an extended range without compromising performance, thanks to cutting-edge hardware and intelligent software integration."
The notable feature of Eva is the solar roof offering up to 3,000 km of free charging annually – which is quite fair to satisfy the average driving needs of buyers in cities. The car’s solar panels and electric motor work in harmony, achieving a top speed of 70 km/h and accelerating from 0-40 km/h in just 5 seconds. With India moving towards sustainable mobility solutions, Eva is set to lead the charge with its blend of innovation, affordability, and eco-conscious design.
