Toyota Motors grab the top spot as world’s largest car manufacturer in 2012
In 2011, General Motors stole the top spot from Toyota Motors, but in 2012, Toyota came back with a bang. Toyota Motors turned out to be the world’s top-most car manufacturer. The numero uno position is given to the car maker on the basis of its global sale and Toyota managed to sell around 9.748 million vehicles last year. The second spot was occupied by General Motors, which sold about 9.29 million vehicles. The third position went to Volkswagen with 9.1 million sales. The Japanese car maker, Honda sold 3.82 million vehicles in 2012, whereas Nissan Motors managed to sell 4.94 million vehicles.
It is undoubtedly shows that Toyota Motors has seen great progress and has the capacity to cover and cope up with all the messes that the sluggish market condition creates for it. With the success of being World’s top most car manufacturer, now the company is focusing on its future strategies. In 2013, Toyota Motors targets to grab a sales figure of 9.91 million, which means the firm is aiming for a growth rate of about 1.6% this year.
With this growth rate, the company surely aims in grabbing the top spot even next year as well. What is interesting is that Toyota Motors indeed deserved this title; reason being the maintained quality products with a widespread portfolio. Even in India, the company is trying its best to make the Indian consumers happy. Recently, the car maker launched the Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo variants as a regular one. Along with this the five-speed automatic gearbox has also come as an option in the Indian car market for Fortuner SUV.So, it seems that a lot has been going on for Toyota Motors to make its consumers happy all over the world.
