Toyota Confirms the Launch of Fortuner on November 7, 2016

Finally the Japanese car maker has stopped the speculations regarding the launch of its premium SUV in Indian car market but confirming its launch date on November 7, 2016. Rumors regarding launch of generation next Fortuner had been around from quite some time but due to restriction on transportation of diesel vehicles with more than 2000 cc displacement capacity in Delhi and NCR region Japanese car maker had kept its plan on hold and waited for final decision of Supreme Court. Now as the ban on diesel vehicles has been terminated by S.C, company is going to launch new Fortuner in Indian car market. According to sources company has started the bookings of new Fortuner at the down payment of Rs. 1 lakh and has even dispatched the same to its dealers across the India.

It is reported that iteration in new Fortuner will not stagnated only upto cosmetic changes but will also undergo mechanical updates. The existing engine configuration of 2.5 litre engine will be replaced with dual engine options of 2.4 litre and 2.8 litre diesel engine, boosting the power of 147 bhp and 174 bhp respectively. Grapevine is that Japanese car maker might also introduce 2.7 litre petrol engine as offered in Innova Crysta. The transmission system will include six speed manual gearbox transmission system followed by the option of automatic transmission system. Along with this it will be offered with two driving options of two wheel and four wheel.

Talking about the cosmetic changes that would be introduced in new Toyota Fortuner will include its development on new ladder frame chassis platform. On the exterior it will include completely new look with contemporary touch. The major noticeable changes on exteriors will include LED projector headlamps, enlarged air dame, LED taillights, new fog lamps, newly developed front grille, 18 inch alloy wheels followed by excessive use of chrome.
 
On the interiors it will receive newly developed dashboard carried from new Innova Crysta, touchscreen infotainment system with Toyota Link Connectivity, push button start, TFT multi-information display, electronic tail gate, start/stop button, newly introduced Optitron instrument cluster, leather covered multifunctional steering wheel, cooled glove box and one touch folding second row seats.
