Tesla Opens First In-Mall Charging Station in Navi Mumbai
Aiming to strengthen its charging infrastructure in India, the US-based multinational car-making company Tesla has launched its first in-mall electric vehicle charging station at Nexus Seawoods Mall in Navi Mumbai. Located in the B1 parking area, the newly launched facility has a total of eight charging points. These include four V4 Superchargers and four Destination Chargers, offering flexibility to Tesla owners based on their charging requirements and time availability.

The V4 Superchargers are capable of providing high-speed DC charging of up to 250 kW, thus facilitating a fast charging option. Followed by these superchargers, four AC Destination Chargers with an output of 11 kW, suitable for longer parking durations such as shopping or leisure visits. According to Tesla's sources, this move is in accordance with its strategy to expand charging infrastructure at high-footfall locations where customers typically spend time, including malls, highways, and food courts. Before this EV charging station, the carmaker has established same stations in cities like Gurugram, Delhi, and Mumbai.
In a note shared by the company sources, the V4 Superchargers can add up to 275 km of range to the Tesla Model Y in just 15 minutes. This makes it practical for short trips, including routes such as Navi Mumbai to Pune, enhancing convenience for daily commuters and intercity travelers. Tesla also highlighted that the information regarding its integrated charging system can also be checked through its mobile app. The app allows users to locate charging stations, check real-time availability, precondition the vehicle battery for optimal performance, monitor charging progress, receive alerts, and complete payments seamlessly.
With this addition, Tesla’s charging network in India now spans four locations, comprising 20 Superchargers and 14 Destination Chargers. Existing sites include DLF Horizon Center in Gurugram, Worldmark 3 in Aerocity, One BKC in Mumbai, Tesla Center Gurugram, and now Nexus Seawoods Mall. Apart from establishing the charging station, Tesla has introduced a pop-up store in the mall’s main atrium. The space offers visitors an immersive experience with guided vehicle walkthroughs, interactive displays, and test drive opportunities, providing deeper insights into Tesla’s EV technology, safety features, and design approach. Tesla confirmed that the Tesla Model Y is currently available in India at a starting price of INR 59.89 lakh, with home charging support included.
