Tata to launch new utility vehicles in India soon
Tata Motors is known for its flagship SUV Tata Safari and thus the car maker has a long connection with the utility segment. Now the latest buzz is that the car maker is soon to launch some new products in the utility car segment. It is believed that still the under Safari price segment is empty and so Tata could fill in the void in order to counter Renault Duster or even Mahindra Quanto. Meanwhile, Indian car maker Force Motors has launched Force Motors Gurkha SUV at a start price of Rs 6.25 lakh and this has now added one more SUV to the segment. With Tata planning new UVs it is believed that the sports utility segment as well as the multi utility vehicle segment will see some new offering from it.
It is highly expected that Tata might be thinking on launching a new product that can counter Maruti Ertiga in the utility segment. Though Tata has Tata Venture in place but that is more so a public carrier rather a personal vehicle. In order to jump in the UV segment with new fervor the car maker is ready to borrow technology from its subsidiary JLR. Meanwhile, reports suggest that the car giant will be launching a low feature version of Tata Aria at a reasonable price between Rs 9 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. If this comes out to be true then it is sure that there will be much commotion in the segment as the Aria is already a desired UV but people could not afford it following its hefty price.
As per further information on this, the car maker is also believed to bring its luxury SUV from its own stable and it could also use the technology inputs to launch a new UV in the sub 12 lakh segment. Meanwhile, the Tata Safari Storme is proving to be a volume puller for Tata as it has crossed over 2K booking in January and in all Tata sold around 5K UVs in the last month.
