Tata Tiago EV Bags More Than 20,000 Bookings In A Month
The domestic carmaker Tata Motors launched the electronic Tiago hatchback in the Indian car market on September 28, 2022, and started receiving on October 10, 2022. At the time of starting the bookings, the company announced that the first 10,000 buyers would be given the Tiago Electric at an introductory price of Rs 8.49 (ex-showroom price). According to the sources of the company, its website crashed within the half-an-hour it started accepting bookings. After this, the company hiked the prices of Tiago Electronic. The company will start the deliveries of the electric Tiago in January 2023.
Recently, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd informed that the company has received more than 20,000 bookings in a month after it started receiving the bookings of the Tiago electronic.
At present, the homegrown company Tata Motors dominates the electric cars segment in the Indian car market with an estimated 89 per cent share. The company rolled out its first electric car the Nexon EV in the early months of 2020. The launch of electric Nexon helped in establishing the company as one of the key players in electric cars in India.
Recently the company rolled out its 50,000th electric car in the Indian car market and plans to launch more versions of its existing line-up including Nexon EV Max, a facelift of Tigo EV and an updated version of the recently launched Tiago EV in the coming years.
