Tata Nexon EV: Bookings For India’s First EV Starts
After unveiling the electric version of its best selling compact SUV Nexon, the domestic car maker Tata Motors has initiated the bookings for the same at the down payment of Rs. 21,000. It is believed to be offered in the price range of Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 17 lakh (ex-showroom price) and offered in three trims including XM, XZ+, and ZX+ Lux, with three color options consisting of teal blue, silver, and white.
It will be empowered with a 30.2 kWh Lithium-ion polymer, liquid-cooled battery with IP67 certification. It generates the power of 123 hp and the peak torque of 245Nm. It has an efficiency of charging up to 80 percent within 60 minutes when charged with a fast charger with an efficiency of more than 50kW. While charging the battery with a standard charger of 7.0kW, it almost takes eight hours to charge fully. According to the sources of the company, the Nexon will deliver an average of 300 km in a single charged.
As far as features offered in the first Indian electric compact SUV are concerned it is reported to be embellished with automatic climate control, automatic headlamps, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, key-less entry with push-button start-stop, electric sunroof, and seven inches touchscreen infotainment system. On the safety front, it will be equipped with ABS+EBD, dual-front airbags, cornering stability and other standard safety features strictly according to new government laws.
Dimensionally it will have a length of 3994mm, the height of 1607mm, and the width of 1811mm, followed by the wheelbase of 2498mm and the ground clearance of 205mm.
