Tata Nexon. Ev 45 KwH Is The Safest Electric Vehicle In The Country
The domestic carmaker Tata Motors has again shown its commitment to vehicle safety. According to recent reports, the company’s best-selling SUV Nexon has set a benchmark in the segment, with its both ICE and Electric versions dominating the Indian car market. The homegrown carmaker recently introduced variant 45 kWh in the Nexon EV line-up. The new variant has now officially received a 5-star crash test rating from Bharat NCAP (BNCAP). With this test, the compact SUV Nexon has added one more feather to its hat, as now its entire portfolio is compliant with BNCAP’s highest safety standards. The latest achievement also strengthens the Nexon’s position as one of the safest compact SUVs available in the Indian market.
2024 Tata Nexon EV: BNCAP Crash Test Results
The 2024 Tata Nexon EV variant has been awarded the highest 5-star rating in both adult and child occupant protection categories. The electric SUV secured an impressive 29.86 points out of 32 for adult safety and 44.95 out of 49 for child occupant protection.
Comprehensive Safety Features
The notable feature about Nexon’s feature is that all its trims are equipped with standard safety features like front, side, and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, and seat belt pre-tensioners with reminders. Additional features like rear parking sensors, hill-hold assist, and high-speed alerts at 80 kmph, 100 kmph, and 120 kmph contribute further to the vehicle’s high safety rating.
Performance in Impact Tests
During BNCAP’s rigorous crash testing, the Nexon EV demonstrated strong structural integrity and occupant protection. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Nexon scored 14.26 out of 16 points. In the side movable deformable barrier test, it received 15.60 out of 16 points. The results achieved in both these tests exhibit the robustness of materials used in developing this vehicle.
