Tata Motors Dispatches First Fleet Of Electric Tigor To EESL
Finally the first step towards use of electric vehicles in the country has been taken out by the domestic car maker Tata Motors when it dispatched the first brigade of its best selling compact sedan Tigor to Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) for encouraging the use of electric vehicles within the government departments. The fleet of these electric vehicles is manufactured in the Sanand plant in Gujarat and has been rolled out to fulfill the order of 10,000 cars required by the EESL inviting tenders from the manufacturers of electric vehicles within the country few weeks back. The car maker is required to provide these vehicles to the department and as the first phase of delivery the fleet of 250 Tigor’s were rolled out from the plant, after receiving LoA (letter of authority) from the EESL.

From the exterior the electric Tigor looks identical to its standard version but still for making it look different from the regular Tigor it has been embellished with shining EV badge mounted at the front grille. The major difference is integration of electric motors that is outsourced from Electra EV, the group responsible for the manufacturing of supplying electric motors to the manufacture. According to the sources of company it is committed to Governments visit of running electric vehicles across the country by 2030 and will therefore try its best for making the future of India bright and sustainable.

The first fleet of Tata Tigor EV as flagged off by Mr. N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons and Tat Motors in the presence of Mr. Guenter Butschek, CEO and MD, Tata Motors and Shri. Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus, Tata Group. Addressing the event Mr. Chandrasekaran said, "This occasion is a significant milestone for Tata Motors and a proud moment for the entire team. As we work together to build the future of e-mobility in India, I am confident that our customers will respond very favourably to this electric model. I congratulate the entire Tata Motors team for this commendable achievement and wish them the very best as they go forward on this journey."
