Tata Launches Facelift Punch EV, Price Starts at Rs 9.69 Lakh

The domestic carmaker Tata Motors has finally launched the first facelift version of the electric compact SUV Punch in the Indian car market, two years after its initial launch. The price of facelift Punch stars from Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom), and comes equipped with a larger 40kWh battery pack, refreshed styling, additional features and a revised variant lineup.
 

Price And Variants

The 2026 Punch EV facelift is now offered in five trims: Smart, Smart+, Adventure, Empowered and Empowered+S. An interesting fact about the facelift Punch EV is that Tata has slightly reduced the starting price under its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model.

·         Smart (30kWh): Rs 9.69 lakh
 
·         Smart+ (30kWh): Rs 10.29 lakh
 
·         Smart+ (40kWh): Rs 10.89 lakh
 
·         Adventure (40kWh): Rs 11.59 lakh
 
·         Empowered (40kWh): Rs 12.29 lakh
 
·         Empowered+S (40kWh): Rs 12.59 lakh
 
Under the BaaS scheme, prices start from Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom) plus Rs 2.6 per kilometre for the base Smart 30 variant.

Exterior Features

 
On the exterior front the facelift Punch Ev comes with subtle changes, although noticeable. At the front, it gets a cleaner bumper design with a curvier profile and a large lower air dam. Similarly, the vertical headlamp cluster has also been enlarged. Moving ahead, Tata has removed the connected light bar between the DRLs seen on the earlier version. The side profile remains largely unchanged, retaining its muscular stance, flared wheel arches and rear door handle mounted near the window.
 
At the rear, the EV Punch now comes equipped with a connected LED tail lamp setup outsourced from its ICE version. The bumper has been redesigned with a minimalist look, textured silver skid plate and chunky cladding. The updated Punch EV is available in seven colour options: Bengal Rouge, Caramel, Fearless Yellow, Empowered Oxide, Pristine White, Supernova Copper and Pure Grey.
 

Interior And Features

 
Inside the cabin, the facelift Punch EV continues with the same interior design pattern, including the touch-based climate control panel and floating infotainment screen. It also continues two-spoke illuminated steering wheel and gloss-black centre console. To give the interior a fresh look, Tata has introduced a new white-grey interior theme for a fresher look.  In terms of features, the Punch EV is well-equipped with a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, wireless charger, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with updated graphics, automatic climate control, voice-enabled electric sunroof, air purifier, auto headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.
 
Safety features include six airbags, blind view monitor, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.

Powertrain And Range

The facelifted Punch EV is offered with two battery pack options:
 
·         30kWh battery: 88PS and 154Nm, claimed range of 365–375km (MIDC Part 1 + Part 2)
 
·         40kWh battery: 129PS and 154Nm, claimed range of 468km
 
According to source of Tata Motors the battery can be fast-charged from 20 to 80 per cent in just 26 minutes. Along with this, the 40kWh battery pack comes with a lifetime warranty for unlimited kilometres for the first owner.
