Tata Intra EV Pickup Launched at Rs 11.95 Lakh

The domestic car Tata Motors has strengthened its position in India’s electric commercial vehicle segment with the launch of the all-new Intra EV Pickup, expanding its small commercial vehicle (SCV) electric lineup. The vehicle is priced at a starting Rs. 11.95 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be available across the company’s commercial vehicle dealerships nationwide. Based on the Intra platform, the EV Pickup has the perfect combination of practicality and cost-efficiency, offering a robust solution for evolving cargo needs in India.  Speaking at the launch, Girish Wagh, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Motors Ltd., highlighted the company’s commitment to green mobility. In his words, Tata Motors continues to expand its electric commercial vehicle portfolio across segments, supported by strong government policies and collaboration with stakeholders. The company has already seen significant adoption of its electric buses and mini-trucks across multiple cities.
 
Tata Intra EV Pickup Front Low Side
 
The new pickup focuses on productivity and operational efficiency. It is capable of loading the weight of up to 1,750 kg and a load body length of up to 10 feet 2 inches, making it suitable for diverse applications such as FMCG distribution, e-commerce logistics, cold-chain transport, waste management, LPG supply, and dairy operations. It is empowered by a 72 kW electric motor delivering 230 Nm of peak torque, ensuring strong performance even under heavy loads. The pickup also features 23% gradeability, enabling smooth operations on challenging terrains. It is equipped with a 28.2 kWh IP67-rated battery that offers a certified range of 211 km on a single charge. Fast charging capability allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 55 minutes using a CCS2 charger.
 
Addressing the product’s development, Pinaki Haldar, Vice President and Business Head – SCVPU, said that the Intra EV Pickup has been engineered to deliver strong earning potential, high uptime, and everyday usability. He emphasised that features such as a crash-tested cabin, car-like driving dynamics, and driver-centric ergonomics are aimed at improving productivity during long operating hours. The pick-up comes equipped with advanced safety and efficiency technologies, including an Electronic Braking System for enhanced stability and three-level regenerative braking to improve energy recovery and extend driving range. It also comes integrated with Tata Motors’ Fleet Edge platform, offering real-time vehicle tracking, health monitoring, and predictive maintenance capabilities.
 
While designing the vehicle, the company has paid full attention towards driver’s, and therefore it carries a walkthrough cabin, Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS), and a low-noise electric drivetrain that reduces fatigue and enhances overall driving experience. To encourage the adoption of the pick-up, Tata Motors has developed a comprehensive EV ecosystem, including over 25,000 charging points nationwide, more than 200 dedicated EV service centres, and home charging solutions. The company has also collaborated with banks and NBFCs to offer customised financing options. With the addition of the Intra EV Pickup alongside models like the Ace EV 1000 and Ace Pro EV, Tata Motors continues to strengthen its electric SCV portfolio, aiming to support businesses, fleet operators, and entrepreneurs in transitioning towards sustainable and efficient transportation solutions.
