Tata Extends Tiago NRG Lineup With CNG Variants
The domestic carmaker Tata Motors has introduced CNG variants in its best-selling hatchback Tiago NRG line-up. With this, the carmaker has also extended the range of its CNG vehicles after the regular version of Tiago and Tigor. The price of Tata Tiago NRG iCNG starts from Rs 7.40 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi). The CNG variant is launched in both the XT and XZ trims of Tiago NRG. The NRG CNG is priced at Rs 90,000 higher than the standard version.
Under the hood, the Tiago NRG iCNG continues with an existing 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine. The iCNG trim generates a power of 72 bhp and a torque of 95 Nm. The regular petrol version Tiago NRG develops a power of 85 bhp and a torque of 113 Nm. Transmission duties in Tiago NRG iCNG are performed by a five-speed manual gearbox transmission system.
Speaking about the features added in the iCNG version, the Tiago NRG receives a newly revised bumper, skid plates, blacked-out B-pillar, roof rails, plastic body cladding, and 15-inch steel wheels with new covers. The interiors almost remain the same, except for the integration of some additional features like a touchscreen infotainment system that supports connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, fabric upholstery, ABS+EBD, a cooled glovebox, dual airbags, and a Harman sound system. After its launch in the Indian car market, the Tiago NRG CNG will compete with the key-leaders like Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
