Moreover, the Octavia model is significantly more spacious as against the existing version of the car. Length of the car is about 250 mm more at 4800 mm compared to Octavia 2012. It will be carrying an impression of Skoda Vision D Concept to which company has showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in year 2011.
In addition to this, being based on the new MQB platform, the Octavia model is much lighter when compared to its previous generation models. The new Octavia is likely to borrow engine units from new Golf model which is available in a number of four cylinder turbocharged engines. Petrol version is likely to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo petrol version which delivers a peak power of 162kW along with a peak torque of 350 Nm.

However, the company is still tight lipped over the specification details of this car. The new Octavia is most likely to be a part of company’s India line-up, where it will be competing with the likes of Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Volkswagen Passat, etc. The current line-up of the company in the Indian market include premium hatchback Fabia, midsize sedan Rapid, premium sedan Skoda Laura and premium sports utility vehicle Yeti, etc. The company is working aggressively to expand their footprints in the Indian market with enhancing the product line-up as well as sales & service network.
