Replacement of Indica eV2 in plans of Tata Motors for 2015
It seems that home grown car making company Tata Motors is working on aggressive strategy to strengthen its position in Indian car market by launching two new products Tata Zest and Tata Bolt soon in India at one side whereas on the other side it has started developing its strategy for 2015. According to sources of company it is speculating to replace its existing hatchback Indica eV2 from Indian car market with new hatchback which would be developed on XO platform. It is speculated that the replacement of eV2 would be an advanced version of the hatchback.

The upcoming hatchback based on XO platform would be manufactured at its production plant located at Sanand in Gujarat. According to sources of company it will start the production of new hatchback in 2015 and would be offered in the price range falling in the range of Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh. The reason behind the production of new hatchback at Sanand plant is to make the maximum use of its production capacity. The production plant has the capacity of producing 20,000 units per month but is producing only 1,000 to 2,000 units of Tata Nano.
It is also reported that with an objective to make optimum use of its production capacity company will produce Bolt at its production plant at Pune and not at its Ranjangaon plant where it share the production facility with Fiat India. However it’s another sibling Zest will be produced at Ranjangaon plant where Fiat India produces Punto and Linea.
