Prices Of Tata Nexon EV And Tiago EV Slashed
Domestic carmaker Tata Motors has announced to cut the prices of its electric vehicle (EV) lineup, including the Nexon EV and Tiago EV. The move comes in response to recent declines in battery cell prices, making electric mobility more affordable for consumers. According to reports, the newly announced prices are made effective immediately. To begin the Tiago EV received a cut of Rs 70,000 and now its base variant is available with the price tag of Rs 7.99 lakh ex-showroom price. On the other side, the Nexon EV witnesses a price drop of up to Rs 1.2 lakh and now the compact SUV comes with a starting price of Rs 14.49 lakh, while its long-range version is available with a price tag of Rs 16.99 lakh. Both the prices are ex-showroom.
The reduction in prices is attributed to the decline in battery cell costs, a major component in the production of electric vehicles. Tata Motors highlights that the recent decrease in battery prices and the anticipation of further reductions in the future have prompted the company to pass on the resulting benefits directly to customers.
Commenting on the recent price cut, Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Motors' Electric Passenger Mobility division, said, the company's commitment to accelerating the mainstream adoption of EVs by making them more accessible nationwide. He stated, "Our portfolio already offers a wide choice of body styles, range, and price points for our smart, feature-rich EVs. We believe that at these accessible prices, the best-selling Nexon EV and Tiago EV become an even more compelling proposition to attract a larger pool of customers."
With the price cut, the Tiago EV's base variant now stands at ?1 lakh more than the recently discounted base variant of the MG Comet EV. Tata Tiago EV is available in four variants - XE, XT, XZ+, and XZ+ Lux, with two versions on offer - Medium Range and Long Range, boasting claimed driving ranges between 250 km and 315 km. Speaking about the Nexon EV it comes in three variants - Creative, Fearless, and Empowered, featuring both Medium Range and Long Range options. The medium-range variant offers a claimed range of 325 km, while the long-range version boasts a range of 465 km.
