Prices of Mahindra Thar Roxx 4x4 and 2WD Diesel Variants Announced
The domestic carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra has officially disclosed the prices of its recently launched Thar Roxx SUV. The prices announced will apply to diesel engines of 4x4 variants. The prices of the entry-level 4x4 variant start from Rs 18.79 lakh and go up to Rs 22.49 lakh for the top-end variant. Both prices are ex-showroom prices. The prices of 2WD models are comparatively lower than their 4x4 versions. The price of MX5 4x4 is Rs 1.80 higher than its 2WD trim, while the top-end 4x4 version AX7L is Rs 1.5 higher than its counterpart.
Under the hood, the Mahindra Thar Roxx 4x4 gets power from a robust 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. The manual 4x4 variants deliver 150 bhp and 330 Nm of peak torque, while the automatic versions generate the power of 172 bhp and 370 Nm of peak torque. Speaking about the features offered in this five-door family SUV, it best offers off-road features including Mahindra’s 4XPLOR technology, a low-ratio transfer case and an electronic locking system to offer extended performance of rugged terrains.
The presence of different driving modes including Snow, Sand, Mud and adventure is accompanied by real-time performance statistics including altimeter, two driving modes, Zip and Zoom, compass direction, and roll and pitch angles. The additional features include the CrawlSmart system, allowing drivers to maintain a constant speed without pressing the accelerator pedal. The addition of the new feature IntelliTurn locks one of the rear wheels to achieve a tighter turning radius—perfect for challenging off-road trails.
According to sources, the company will receive the bookings of Thar Roxx 4x4 from October 3, 2024, through its portal and dealerships, and deliveries will commence from October 12, 2024. After launch, the Thar Roxx will compete with the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
