New Skoda Octavia images appear, launch next year

The Czech car maker seems to have prepared the facelift of the 2013 Skoda Octavia that will be launched next year. The Octavia had once been in India and had did well at the time but later it was discontinued. Now the latest model Skoda Laura has taken its place and now that the car maker is testing the new generation car of the Octavia, it is expected that the world will get this affordable car by Skoda in a new avatar soon. As per reports, the car’s new front images were revealed during a presentation of Skoda Rapid and VisionD and Octavia’s. Notably, the Rapid is expected to be launched in Europe and final production phase is undergoing.

Significantly, the Skoda Rapid has been ultimately successful for the car maker in India and now as well it is selling well specially after Skoda has offered an attractive EMI of Rs 9999/- for the Rapid sedan. Now the Rapid is heading for a Europe launch and it is at this presentation session of it that the Octavia front images were accidently revealed to the French media. Some ignored and thought to be part of the presentation but those who knew the ins and outs of the industry spotted it at the right moment and identified as the new Octavia’s pictures and not the Rapid ones.

Those features that were on the new Octavia were new styled head lamps and c shaped fog lamps that had a LED strip. The A pillar also was so steep and the wheel base seems to have been lengthened a bit. This is the Octavia that will make a debut at the Geneva Motor Show scheduled next year and hold a look that is also the future of the Skoda cars. Thus in all probability the images that were shown were that of the new Octavia and nothing else. The new Octavia is also expected to shed some weight and it will be a lighter model than the present generation Octavia.
