New compact sedan from Volkswagen to be named as Ameo or Bora
Developed strictly for Indian car market the upcoming compact sedan from German car maker Volkswagen is reported to be showcased during the upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2016, to be held in February. The production of this compact sedan will commence at company’s production unit located at Pune from the second first half of next year. As far as other details including engine specifications, features and even name would be disclosed during the scheduled Auto Expo 2016.
However on the other side it is rumored that proposed compact sedan from car maker will be named as Ameo or Bora. It would be interested to know that German maker sold the generation next Jetta sedan in various international markets like Australia, Argentina and Brazil named as Bora during the beginning of 2000. Therefore now it would be interested to see what name German auto giant thinks suitable for this compact sedan.
Expected to be offered in both petrol and diesel engines of 1.2 litre MPI and TSI petrol and 1.5 diesel engine the compact sedan after launch in Indian car market will complete with existing rulers of compact sedan segment namely Maruti Swift Dzire, Hyunda Xcent, recently launched Ford Aspire, Tata Zest and of-course trendsetter Honda Amaze. According to reports car maker has invested around 720 crore on designing and development of this compact sedan for Indian car market.
