Mercedes-Benz Launches 2017 E-Class in India
German car maker Mercedes-Benz has introduced the fifth generation of its luxurious sedan E-Class in Indian car market with price tag of Rs. 56.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for E 200 and Mercedes-Benz E 350d with starting price of Rs. 69.47 lakh (ex-showroom price, Mumbai). In Indian car market the sedan has been launched with option of right hand drive along with long wheelbase.
Under the hood E200 is energized with in line four cylinder 1991 cc petrol engine that is capable of generating the power of 184 bhp and torque of 300Nm whereas the E350d is empowered with V6 2987cc diesel engine that produces the power of 258bhp and torque of 620Nm. Both the engines are mated with 9G tronic automatic transmission system. With top notch of 240kmph, the petrol trim E200 can hit the mark of 100 kmph from standstill in the span of 8.5 seconds, whereas the same distance is covered in 6.6 seconds by E350d variant with the top seed of 250 kmph.
On exterior front the new E-Class sports the same design philosophy as offered in S-Class and C-Class. This similarity might confuse to most of the buyers and they will have to observe all three of them before buying the sedan of their choice. Apart, from this the 2017 E-Class is 205mm longer than its erstwhile version. Inside the cabin it outsources most of its cues from S-Class. The dash board sports high resolution dual 12.3 inches display screen, ambient lighting system with five dimming modes, 37 degree recliner rear seats. Along with all these features the E350d adorns 360 degree rear view camera for parking.
