Maruti Suzuki Starts Booking For e Vitara, Launching In May 2025
The country's leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited is all set to launch the much-awaited e-Vitara compact SUV in the Indian car market sometime in the month of May this year. While Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has yet to make an official announcement, several dealers across the country have already begun accepting pre-bookings for the electric SUV.

With e-Vitara, the Indo-Japanese carmaker will begin its journey in the electric vehicle segment. After its launch in the Indian car market, the e-Vitara will directly rival the upcoming Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata Curvv EV. The new model will be sold exclusively through Maruti’s premium NEXA dealership network. The first electric vehicle from the carmaker is manufactured at Suzuki’s Gujarat-based facility unit. The e-Vitara will cater to both domestic and international markets, including Europe and Japan. After Maruti, its technical partner, Toyota, is also expected to launch its version of the vehicle, which was showcased earlier as the Urban Cruiser EV.
Two Battery Options, Up to 500km Range
The e-Vitara will be available in two battery variants: a 49kWh and a larger 61kWh pack, both paired with front-axle-mounted electric motors. The 49kWh variant delivers 143bhp and 192.5Nm of torque, while the 61kWh variant offers a higher output of 173bhp.
A dual-motor AWD configuration will also be available in the global-spec model, featuring the 61kWh battery and generating 184hp and 300Nm of torque. The top-end variant is expected to deliver a certified range of over 500km on a full charge.
Feature-Packed Electric SUV
- The e-Vitara is expected to come loaded with premium features, including:
- 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Ambient lighting with multi-colour options
- Fixed-glass sunroof
- Wireless charger and ventilated front seats
- 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat
- Sliding and reclining rear seats
- Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
- 360-degree camera and blind spot monitoring
- Electronic parking brake with auto hold
- TPMS and seven airbags
- All-disc brakes and parking sensors at both ends
Colour Options
The SUV will be offered in six single-tone and four dual-tone colour options. The variants with single-tone options will include Bluish Black, Splendid Silver, NEXA Blue, Grandeur Grey, Arctic White, and Opulent Red. Whereas, the dual-tone options will include Opulent Red with a black roof, Land Breeze Green with a black roof, Splendid Silver with a black roof, and Arctic White with a black roof.
As Maruti Suzuki prepares to electrify its premium SUV segment, the e-Vitara is expected to be a game-changer in India’s rapidly growing EV market.
