Major Car Makers End 2025 On A Strong Note
The leading carmakers of the Indian car market ended the last month of the Calendar Year 2025 with strong sales momentum driven by festive demand, rising exports, and consumer sentiments. According to reports, key-players like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Kia, Toyota, MG Motor, Honda, and Skoda reported healthy year-on-year growth across domestic and international markets.

Maruti Suzuki Sales Performance
Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported total sales of 217,854 units in December 2025, with domestic sales touching all-time high sales figures of 182,165 units, while exports stood at 25,739 units, and sales to other OEMs were 9,950 units. During the CY 2025, Maruti Suzuki achieved its highest-ever total sales of 2,351,139 units, including record exports of 395,648 units, registering a growth of over 21% compared to CY 2024. This performance helped the Indo-Japanese carmaker retain its position as India’s No.1 passenger vehicle exporter for the fifth consecutive year. The company exported 18 models to more than 100 countries in 2025. Notably, Maruti Suzuki also exported more than 13,000 units of its first electric vehicle, the e VITARA, to 29 countries, mainly in Europe.
Hyundai Motor India Sales
The Indian alliance of the Korean carmaker Hyundai Motors, Hyundai Motor India Limited, recorded total sales of 58,702 units in December 2025, registering a 6.6% year-on-year growth. Domestic sales stood at 42,416 units, whereas the exports figure stood at 16,286 units, underlining Hyundai’s strong export presence.
Tata Motors Sales Update
The domestic carmaker Tata Motors reported double-digit growth in Q3 FY26, with total wholesales of 1,15,577 units, marking a 21% YoY growth. In December 2025, Tata sold 42,508 units, up from 33,875 units in December 2024. The growth was driven by sustained demand for SCVs and pickups, with MH&ICV domestic sales reaching 20,363 units in December 2025. Combined domestic and international MH&ICV sales stood at 21,646 units for the month.
Kia India Sales
Kia India closed CY 2025 with total wholesale volumes of 280,286 units, registering 15% annual growth over 2024. December 2025 marked Kia’s best-ever December, with sales of 18,659 units, reflecting a 105% YoY growth, driven by strong customer demand and improved market sentiment.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor Sales
Toyota Kirloskar Motor recorded its highest-ever calendar year sales with 3,88,801 units in CY 2025, reflecting 19% growth over 2024. Domestic sales accounted for 3,51,580 units, while exports stood at 37,221 units, growing by 42%. In December 2025, Toyota sold 39,333 units, marking a 33% YoY growth, with domestic sales of 34,157 units and exports of 5,176 units.
JSW MG Motor India Sales
JSW MG Motor India registered 19% YoY growth in CY 2025, selling 70,554 units during the year. In December 2025, the company recorded 6,500 wholesale units. MG also crossed a major milestone of 100,000 EVs sold in India, while the MG Windsor retained its position as India’s best-selling electric car. The MG SELECT luxury retail channel witnessed strong momentum, driven by models like the M9 Presidential Limousine and Cyberster.
Honda Cars India Sales
Honda Cars India Ltd. reported domestic sales of 5,807 units in December 2025, registering a 3.6% growth over the previous year. Exports stood at 2,352 units, taking total monthly sales to 8,159 units.
Skoda Auto India Sales
Skoda Auto marked 2025 as its most successful year in India, celebrating its 25th anniversary with record sales. The brand closed the year with 72,665 units sold, registering a massive 107% year-on-year growth compared to 35,166 units in 2024.
