Exterior Design Inspired by Rugged Styling

The latest images, shared by SRK Designs, reveal the Vision S in a striking yellow shade. Despite being endorsed as a mid-size SUV, the model seems muscular and commanding, with proportions that give it a bold road presence. People who have seen the concept being test on roads have compared its front fascia as a smaller version of the Land Rover Defender due to its boxier and rugged looks. To begin with, the front profile, the Vision S is expected to come with circular LED headlamps with integrated circular LED DRLs. The grille receive six vertical slats and the signature Mahindra Twin Peaks logo positioned prominently at the center. The front bumper maintains a strong and confident look. A chunky silver skid plate is placed below the lower central section, while LED fog lamps are placed on both ends of the bumper.

The side profile gives the SUV a more rugged look. It is expected to get 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels, with the rendered model showcasing sporty five-spoke alloys. Thick black cladding runs across the front and rear fenders as well as along the doors. It is expected that the side profile will also receive the steps for moving inside the SUV. It is believed that the interior would be spacious due to the high window line, strong shoulder crease, and large glass area. The upright proportions and squared-off design elements are aimed at appealing to buyers seeking a tough-looking yet practical SUV. At the rear, images indicate L-shaped LED tail lamps and a full-size spare wheel mounted on the tailgate. The rear bumper features black cladding along with a silver skid plate, maintaining the rugged theme throughout the design.

Modern Interior

Mahindra has already showcased a concept version of the Vision S cabin. The interior is expected to come equipped with contemporary technical features with robust styling cues. The major features offered inside the cabin include trapezoidal AC vents, a large centrally mounted touchscreen infotainment system, and a fully digital instrument cluster. Physical buttons are expected below the automatic climate control unit for added convenience. Besides these features, the SUV is likely to get a bunch of premium features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, an electronic parking brake, a wireless charging pad, and a 360-degree camera. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Level 2 features are also anticipated, aligning the Vision S with segment expectations.

Engine Options and Launch Timeline

Under the hood, the Vision S is expected to share Mahindra’s proven 1.5-litre diesel engine currently used in models like the Thar three-door and the XUV 3XO. A 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine is also likely to be part of the lineup. Reports suggest that a hybrid version could follow a few months after the initial launch.
