Mahindra Felicitates Boxer Nikhat Zareen With Thar SUV
The domestic carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra doesn’t leave any stone unturned when it comes to encouraging Indian sportspersons for their remarkable presentation on international platforms. Recently, the carmaker gifted its best-selling off-road SUV Thar, to Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen, during a felicitation ceremony held recently in South Africa. Nikhat Zareen had won the gold medal at the World Women’s Boxing Championship held in March at Delhi. Zareen had won the championship by beating her contender Nguyen Thi Tam of Vietnam by 5-0 to grab the title. After winning the title she was given the prize money of $100,000, which she said to use to buy a Mercedes-Benz car.
Now after, being honoured by the Indian carmaker Mahindra with the Thar SUV, Nikhat said that she has changed her plan of buying the Mercedes car. In her words, with Ramzain going on, she will give this money to her parents to go for ‘Umrah’. Commenting on the company’s decision to gift Thar to Zareen, the sources of Mahindra said, “Congratulations to the Mahindra Emerging Boxing Icon. A brand new All-New Thar is a token of our appreciation for her enormous achievement”.
Mahindra & Mahindra has always been on the front to felicitate Indian Athletes for their superior performances. Earlier, the company honoured the Olympic Javelin gold medalist Neeraj Chopra with the special edition of its flagship XUV700, christened as Javelin Edition. Before Chopra, the company had gifted the Javelin Edition of XUV700 to Olympic champion Sumit Antil for winning the gold medal in men’s javelin throw F64 during the Summer Paralympics held in 2020. Besides this, the company also presented Paralympic champion Avani Lekhara for winning the gold medal in the 10-meter air rifle at Tokyo Paralympics 2020.
