The facility is part of Mahindra’s ambitious Rs 16,000 crore investment plan for the F22-F27 cycle, with Rs 4,500 crore specifically allocated to this project. The investment covers powertrain development, product innovation, and the expansion of manufacturing capacity to cater to the growing demand for electric vehicles. Mahindra’s EV production unit is a marvel of automation and integration, boasting over 1,000 robots and advanced automated systems. The facility emphasizes gender diversity with a target to achieve a 25% female workforce, underscoring the company’s commitment to inclusivity in the workplace.
Equipped with a fully automated press shop, an AI-driven body shop, and robotic paint shops, the plant prioritizes efficiency and quality. The body shop alone houses over 500 robots, with all operations monitored and managed by an IoT-based “Nerve Center” that ensures real-time monitoring and traceability of manufacturing processes. This state-of-the-art facility underscores Mahindra & Mahindra’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity, positioning the company as a key player in India’s evolving EV landscape.
