Live Updates from the Indian Auto Expo 2016
The latest update from ongoing Indian Auto Expo 2016 is that couple of hours back it officially underwent it’s inaugural ceremony with Honourable Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Honourable Mr. Anant Geete, Minister of Heavy Industries, Government of India, inaugurating the event by lighting the lamp of Auto Expo. With this from tomorrow onwards the show will be open for audiences to view the charisma of stunning vehicles unveiled and launched during the show.
The fresh news is from camp of MSIL it is reported that after showcasing its compact SUV Vitara Brezza yesterday the Indo-Japanese car maker has unveiled two more vehicles i.e, Baleno RS Concept hatchback and Ignis concept during the show. The first to come out was Baleno RS, developed with 1.0 litre 3 cylinder turbocharged engine boosting the power of 110bhp and torque of 170Nm. It is offered with five speed manual gearbox system. With an objective to make it look different from regular Baleno hatchback car maker has made exclusive use chrome with contemporary changes on the exterior followed by newly developed headlamps, muscular front bumper and many more.
Another vehicle showcased by car maker was its concept car code named as Ignis. The micro SUV will be powered by 1.2 litre VTVT petrol engine whereas the diesel trim will sport 1.3 litre Multijet engine. Both the engines will be mated with five speed manual gear transmission system. The petrol variant might be offered with CVT automatic transmission system.
Apart from this the morning session began with news from pavilion of Fiat India Limited, the Indian alliance of Italian car maker Fiat Motors. It is reported that car maker has showcased three of its jewels in form of Avventura Urban Cross, Linea 125 S and Punto Pure. Among these three vehicles company has unveiled the first two vehicles followed by launch of the later one. To begin with Fiat Avventura Urban will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants empowered with 1.4 litre and 1.3 litre 16V MULTIJET engines respectively.
The next car unveiled by Fiat was Linea 125 S, endorsed as the most powerful sedan, the Linea 125 S sports 1.4 litre T-JET engine churning the power of 125 PS and torque of 210Nm, it is mated with five speed manual gear transmission system. Although the sedan will officially debut during the second of this year but has succeeded in generating curiosity among the car enthusiasts immediately with its unveil.
The third product to come out from bag of Fiat was launch of its hatchback named as Punto Pure, also referred as Grande Punto with starting price of Rs. 4.49 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi) for petrol variant and Rs. 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi) for diesel variant. The petrol engine adorns 1.2 litre FIRE engine with SOHC valve configuration boosting the power of 67 bhp and torque of 96Nm. The diesel variant comprises of 1.3 litre, 4 cylinder, 16 Valve engine configuration churning the power of 75 bhp and torque of 197 Nm.
Moving ahead another major attraction of morning session was Volkswagen Polo GTI from German car maker Volkswagen. To be energized with 1.8 litre TSi turbocharged petrol engine churning the power of 192 PS and torque of 320Nm, and will be offered with six speed manual transmission system and also with seven speed DSG dual clutch automatic transmission system.
