Indian Auto Expo 2016: Tata Nexon aka Osprey caught while test driving

It is reported that home grown car maker Tata Motors is conducting test drives of its proposed compact SUV Nexon regularly from quite some time and recently the same was witnessed by spies capturing camouflaged Nexon aka Osprey being tested on roads. The compact SUV is proposed to be showcased during the Indian Auto Expo 2016 along with 20 new offering being offered by car maker. According to reports received from spies the front and rear portion of completely covered Nixon looked much better than its earlier pictures giving complete idea about the appearance of this new compact SUV.

Developed on X1 platform that was used for developing hatchback Indica, Tata Nexon is reported to be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options enriched with 1.2 litre Revotron and 1.3 litre Multijet engine respectively. Apart from this it is also rumoured that Tata might offer one engine option of 1.5 litre Revotron petrol engine boosting the power of 100  bhp. Inside the cabin it might receive three spoke multi functional steering wheel, instrument cluster similar to Bolt hatchback and horizontal air conditioner vents.

 

 

It is speculated to be priced between Rs. 6 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh and will compete against recently launched Mahindra TUV300 and Ford EcoSport.
