Indian Auto Expo 2016: Renault to launch new variant of Kwid
Encouraged from the over whelming response received for its newly launched hatchback Kwid, French car maker is going to launch its upgraded version enriched with 1.0 litre engine configuration during the upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2016. The existing version of Kwid is empowered with 799 cc three cylinder petrol engine boosting the power of 53.2 bhp and torque of 72Nm. The success of this variant can be witnessed from its waiting period which extends to ten months. As far as details related with 1.0 litre engine which would be integrated in new version of Renault Kwid are concerned nothing has been so far revealed by car maker, but it is speculated to generate the power of 75 bhp.
Talking about other features it is also speculated that the upcoming trim of Kwid will also embellish features like dual airbags and ABS as standard features in all variants. At present these features are offered as an option of single airbag in the top RxT variant. With more than 75,000 bookings the Kwid has emerged as strong contender to Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon.
After launch in Indian car market the new trim of Kwid will compete against Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Alto K10 AMT. The version of Kwid being sold currently in Indian car market is offered with five speed manual gear transmission system.
