Indian Auto Expo 2016: Maruti Suzuki to unveil RS Concept of Baleno Hatchback
With couple of weeks left in the organization of Indian Auto Expo 2016, all major car makers have started giving final shape to their preparations. In this series it is reported that country’s leading car manufacturer MSIL has also disclosed its strategy for show. It is reported that apart from exhibiting Ignis and Vitara Brezza the Indo-Japanese car maker will also showcase the RS Boosterjet concept of its recently launched hatchback Baleno during the show. It would be interested to know Baleno hatchback has succeeded in impressing all the segments in Indian car market. One thing however which needs to mentioned here about the new RS Boosterjet concept of Baleno is that it is not like RS concept as introduced in sedan Ciaz, on the contrary it is first ever Boosterjet 1.0 litre petrol engine developed by the car maker.
Introduction of Boosterjet engine is one of the highly awaited concepts by MSIL which has been introduced in Baleno hatchback. The 1.0 litre Boosterjet engine will churn the power of 110bhp and torque of 170Nm. According to industry experts although it is promoted as conceptual engine by car maker but company might introduce this version of hatchback later this year with manual gear transmission system. As far as price of this version is concerned it is speculated to be costlier that 1.2 litre petrol version of Baleno but because of its sportier look this version will have more potential to grab the attention of audiences, especially of young enthusiasts. After launch in Indian car market it will compete against Fiat Abarth Punto and Polo GT TSI.
