Indian Auto Expo 2016: Jaguar XE Debuts with price tag of Rs. 39.90 Lakh
British luxurious car maker today launched its saloon sedan XE with price tag of Rs. 39.90 lakh (ex-shwroom, New Delhi) during the first day of Indian Auto Expo 2016 started from today. The sportier saloon has been offered in both petrol and diesel variants with petrol engine empowered by 2.0 litre engine boosting the power of 200 PS at 5500 rpm and torque of 320Nm at rpm varying between 1750 and 4,000. While the diesel engine empowered with same engine configuration churning the power of 180 PS at 4,000 rpm and torque of 430Nm at 1750-2500 rpm. Both the engines are mated with eight speed automatic gear box.
Pitted against BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C Class and Audi A4, the sedan is embellished with smart features. It has length of 4672mm, width of 1850mm, height of 4672mm and wheelbase of 2835mm.
As an impact of monocoque platform the saloon has been developed with light weight aluminum sheet. The petrol variant achieves the speed of 100 kmph from zero within the span of 7.7 seconds whereas the same by diesel engine is achieved within the span of 7.8 seconds.
