Indian Auto Expo 2016: Isuzu to showcase MU-X SUV and commercial vehicle D-Max
It is reported that Isuzu India, the Indian venture of Japanese car maker Isuzu Motors will showcase its full sized SUV MU-X and commercial vehicle D-Max during the upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2016. The news regarding this was given by Mr. Shankar Srinivas, Senior General Manager, Communications, Isuzu India, saying that the complete new SUV MU-X and commercial vehicle D-Max will be the major attractions of company’s pavilion during the show. With this announcement Mr. Srinivas also informed that company has eliminated its production activities from Hindustan Motor Plant located in Thiruvallur in Chennai and now company will commence its production activities at its new plant in Sri city of Andhra Pradesh from April 2016.
From this announcement by Mr. Srinivas one thing is confirmed that introduction of new SUV MU-X is being launched to replace the existing SUV MU-7. With wheelbase of 2,845mm the new MU-X has dimensions of 4,825mm length, 1,860mm width, and 1,840mm height. It is expected to be offered with 2.5-litre 4JK1-TC (HI) common-rail direct-injection engine boosting the power of 136 bhp and torque of 320 Nm and mated with five speed manual and automatic transmission system. It will be offered in both two wheel and four wheel drive options. Inside the cabin it will carry resemblance to Chevrolet Trailblazer and is expected to be launched in Indian car market sometimes during the next half of this year.
