Indian Auto Expo 2016: General Motors to showcase compact sedan Chevrolet Beat Essentia
Sub compact sedan segment has highly flourished during last couple of years in Indian car market with all major car makers introducing their upgraded compact sedan's. Following the same trend U.S. based car maker General Motors is also going to mark its presence in this segment by introducing its compact sedan to be named as Essentia during the upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2016. Developed on the platform used for manufacturing Beat hatchback the sub-compact sedan will enjoy the excise duty imposed by Government of India on small cars as an impact of this it is expected to be priced lesser then existing sub compact sedan's in Indian car market.
Anticipated to be offered in both petrol and diesel disguises which would be empowered with 1199 cc four cylinder engine churning the power of 77 bhp and torque of 106.5 Nm, and 936 cc three cylinder engine boosting the power of 56 bhp and torque of 124.5 Nm respectively. The engine will be offered with five speed manual gear transmission system. According to reports company has been working on this product from last three years and after showcasing it during the upcoming auto expo it will launch the vehicle sometimes during 2017. The compact SUV is reported to carry more of its cues similar to generation next Beat which is also expected to showcase during the show.
