Indian Auto Expo 2016: Compact SUV SsangYong Tivoli to be showcased by M&M
Korean car maker SsangYong launched its compact SUV Tivoli in Korean car market last year in January 2015 and now its Indian alliance Mahindra and Mahindra is going to launch the same in Indian car market during the upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2016. Developed on SsangYong XIV-Air and XIV Adventure concepts the new compact SUV Tivoli is the best illustration of company’s designing technology with 70% of its physique developed strong steel elements.
Under the bonnet it will be offered in both petrol and diesel trims which will be energized with 1.6 litre petrol and e-XDi 10 diesel engines which are same as offered in Korean and European version of Tivoli. There will be option of opting six speed automatic and manual transmission system. The petrol unit mated with automatic transmission will generate the power of 126 bhp and torque of 160 Nm followed by 113 bhp power and torque of 300 Nm by diesel variant.
With an objective to provide comfort seating experience to passengers the Korean version of Tivoli has been developed with wheelbase of 2600 mm and width of 1795 mm. Moving ahead the interiors have been decorated with three color option of black, beige and red followed by flattened steering wheel. For Indian car market domestic car maker will assemble it company’s production unit at Chakan near Pune. After launch in Indian car marker SsangYong will compete against Creta from Hyundai and Duster from Renault and therefore it is speculated to offered at the competitive price to lure buyers towards new option.
