Hyundai Extends The Verna Family With Extra Engine Options
Hyundai Motors India Limited, the Indian alliance of Korean car maker Hyundai Motors has introduced the additional options of 1.4 litre diesel engine and 1.4 litre Kappa engine in its best selling sedan Verna in the Indian car market. The new engine option is offered in the base E and Ex variants. The existing 1.6 litre U2 CRDi diesel engine is offered in the top end SX and SX(O) followed by 1.6 litre Gamma petrol engine in the petrol variant. According to sources of company the main objective of introducing 1.4 litre U2 CRDi diesel engine is to lure the buyers who wish to buy a sedan embellished with contemporary features and within their reach.

Talking about the performance of newly introdcuced 1.4 litre diesel unit, it is reported to generate the power of 90PS and the torque of 22.4 Kgm ranging from 1500 to 2750 rpm. The transmission duty is performed by six speed manual gear transmission system. In its new avatar the new Verna will compete against Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, that are offered with 1.5 litre and 1.3 litre diesel engine options respectively.

The new Verna is developed on K2 platform and is enriched with additional features like rear curtain, eco coating for AC vents, rear parking sensors, sunroof and six airbags on the top trims. It would be interested to learn that HMIL is the only car manufacturer in the country that offers any of its sedans with two options of engine in diesel variant. Prior to this, the car maker had launched the anniversary edition of the Verna sedan back in the month of September this year, and equipped the same with some extra features.
